Anishnaabe/Ojibway handmade leather pouches by elder, Marcie McIntire.  We met Marcie on the Grand Portage Reservation which is very close to Canada in northeast Minnesota and fell in love with her little leather pouches.  Each one has a beaded border and a neck strap.  Perfect for a small Zuni carving, a bit of tobacco, sage, cedar, or something special.

Pouch size: 2" x 2" - Neck straps are between 16" and 24" long

A tiny fetish carving, a bit of tobacco, cedar or sage will fit in this small pouch made from white leather.  It opens and closes with a strand of white leather.  The long leather strap can be used to wear it, tie it to something else, or make it much shorter. 

Size:  1.75" H x 1.5" W - Long strap 29" Long

Larger: 2.25" H x 1.675" W - Long strap 29" Long

This lovely Navajo handmade white leather pouch has pink seed beads around the edges along the seams from the top to the bottom.  The looped dangles on the bottom are pink seed beads with a larger bead on the large and black red, orange, and yellow seed beads in the center.  The bag closes with a tied on leather strap that is 12.5" long.  We have a similar bag that hangs from our rear view mirror with medicines in it.

This leather pouch has two two sets of fringe, the shorter ones (1.5" long) and longer ones (4.25" long) with jingles.  There is also ornamental stitching around the pouch which is sealed so nothing falls through.  There are two options, the lighter leather one shown, and a darker tan color leather.  Perfect for a  Zuni carving, bit of tobacco, sage, cedar, or something special.  The strap is long enough to wear or hang with your special item(s) inside.  The strap can also be cut and knotted to make it shorter.

Fringe, adouble neck strap, and a gusset make this leather pouch especially nice!  It can be worn or hung.  Perfect for a Zuni carving, bit of tobacco, sage, cedar, or something special. The braided strap can also be cut and knotted to make it shorter.

Pouch size: 4.25" H x 3.25" W - Fringe: 5.5" L - Neck straps: 24" - Gusset: .675" W

Well made and beautiful!  This leather bag has beautiful stitching and fringe. Perfect for a  Zuni carving, bit of tobacco, sage, cedar, or something special.  The strap is long enough to wear or hang with your special item(s) inside.  The strap can also be cut and knotted to make it shorter.

Pouch size: 3.5" H x 3.25" W - Fringe 5.25" L - Strap: 26"

The smell of smoked leather is heavenly and smells like a deep forest campfire.  A small fetish carving, a bit of tobacco, cedar or sage will fit in this small pouch.  Unfortunately, the aroma will fade, but the memory of the aroma will stay.  These pouches are all about the same size with a longer bit that is above where the tie wraps around.

Size includes the part above the leather tie:  4" H x 1.5" W - Pouch not including the part above the leather: 2" H x 1.5" W

This soft rabbit fur leather with a tie close can be worn around the neck or the leather strips can be cut shorter.  It would be perfect for a Zuni fetish, a special rock, or a bit of medicine (sage, tobacco, etc.).   Imagine a child (or the child within us all) who loves small special things opening this pouch to find their treasure!
